I have been married to Denise for 40 years and have three children–Micah, a medical doctor practicing in Andover, Kansas; Matthew, a student studying for his doctorate in marketing at UNL; and Meggie, a Registered Dietitian studying for work in the medical field in Wichita, Kansas. I teach Algebra 1 and 2, Advanced Math Topics, and Introduction to Algebra at Auburn High School. I help coach middle school girls basketball.
My undergraduate degree is from Kansas State University, and my masters degree is from Peru State College. I have published 12 student activities in The Mathematics Teacher and Teaching Mathematics in the Middle School by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and also Science Scope from the National Association of Science Teachers. I write mathematics items for ACT and have served on three ACT item review panels.
In 1996, my family moved to Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa, where I taught two years at Rain Forest International School. I have taught 40 years–33 of those in my home town–Sabetha, Kansas.
My hobbies include music, sports, and my OLD Park Avenue.
