My name is Mary Stukenholtz and I began teaching music at Calvert Elementary School in the 2009-2010 school year. I enjoy my job more every year! Even though I am here to teach, sometimes I feel like I am the one doing all the learning.
I grew up as a pastor’s daughter in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where I got involved in music at church and school and never looked back. Since then, I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, a Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance, and a National Board Teaching Certificate in Secondary Music Education. I taught elementary music in the Chicago suburbs for 5 years and high school choir for 6 years at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago.
In 2007, I moved from Chicago to Nebraska. I miss Chicago, but I love life here in Nebraska. I live on a farm near Jullian, Nebraska, with my husband Jay, son Jack, and our two dogs, Olivia and Boulder.
I am looking forward to continuing my career in music education at Auburn Public Schools. This is a great place to be!
