September 2006 PTO Highlights
September 15, 2006
To Date, we have sold 170 t-shirts for $590.50 in profit! The t-shirts have gone over so well, it was suggested that we sell long sleeve shirts and hooded sweatshirts now that the weather is getting cooler. A new order form will be sent home with the students at Calvert and Middle School. Box Tops: The week of October 16-20th is the deadline to get Box Tops turned in for the first competition. It was decided to purchase writing reference materials, a DVD/VCR player, Reading Counts books and quizzes for Calvert, and a TV/DVD/VCR combination and Accelerated Reader quizzes for Middle School. There are still funds to be allocated. Please be thinking about short-term and long-term goals for both schools and bring them to the November 13th meeting. PTO will be selling Bulldog tattoos, pom-poms, and neon bracelets, and doing face painting at the Homecoming game! A meat and cheese tray and crackers will be provided for the teachers the first night of parent/teacher's conferences, October 24th. PTO members will provide an evening meal for teachers on October 25th. We are also going to start doing a teacher appreciation/birthday snack day at both schools every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. November 17th was chosen for family movie night. This is a night in which the whole family can bring lawn chairs or blankets to Calvert to enjoy a movie together; children must be accompanied by an adult. Crossing guards are needed at the Middle School from 7:30-8:15 M-F. Please call 274-4027 if you can volunteer! The next meeting will be November 13,2006, 7:00 in the Calvert Library.
