My teaching career began in 1973 after graduating from Peru State College. Over the years, I have had the privilege of educating students ranging in grades from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. As years passed, I chose to work towards a Masters Degree in Elementary Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. In 1994, I began my counseling career in the Auburn Public School District as the K-5 Elementary Counselor. After completing my Masters Degree in Counseling, I went on to obtain National Certification in Counseling, a Counseling Degree in Secondary Education, Nebraska Certification for Professional Counseling, and a Nebraska Licensure for a Mental Health Practitioner. Currently, in the Auburn Public School District, I am the K-6 counselor at Calvert Elementary and The Auburn Middle School.
I have been married to my husband, Larry, for over 35 years. He is a retired Auburn High School Industrial Technology Teacher. We have two grown children, Nicole and Scott. Nicole lives in the Kansas City area with her husband, Aaron, and their two daughters. Scott is working and living in La Jolla, California. During my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and sewing. My husband and I enjoy camping, golfing, and spending as much time as possible with our granddaughters.
