opportunities.  You may also check it out on the

Selective Service Registration is required by law. Males 18 years of age

must register.You may now register online

at: www.sss.gov.  This is required to be eligible

for any state or federal financial aid.

 

ACT and SAT Registration Information:  After the deadline, a late fee is

charged. You may now register online for both tests:

ACT www.actstudent.org or SATwww.collegeboard.com.

ACT    TEST DATE: December 8, 2007   Deadline:  November 2nd

SAT    TEST DATE: Dec. 1, 2007   Deadline : Oct. 30, 2007

 

Baylor Test prep  will offer an ACT prep course.  It will be given in four

sessions, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 18, 25 and 28 and on Dec. 2.

This will be held in Nebraska City and the cost is $145, to register

pick up form in the guidance office.

North Central Kansas Technical College invites you to their Open House

Doane College has updated their campus with some new facilities.

guests will get free admission to the football

game between Doane and Midland Lutheran.  Those details

Iowa Western Community College will be hosting a Marketing competition

day and  two Health and Science Days in October and November

 UN-L is having a Diversity Enhancement Scholarship workshop

for scholarship applications on Dec. 7 and Jan. 11.

 

Midwest Student Exchange Program is a program that gives reduced

tuition rates to out of state schools close to Nebraska.   Visit them

also at http://msep.mhec.org. or read information in the guidance office.

 

www.CollegeAnswer.com is a comprehensive resource that walks

students through the going to college process.  Visitors can access

a free scholarship search.

 

Burger King Scholars Program is available online. See the details and

register at www.bk.com/scholars.

 

Go to www.christianconnector.com to get Christian college information

and be entered in the scholarship drawing.

 

Are you an entrepreneur?  Would you like to be nominated for the

Allen Dayton Young Entrepreneur Contest?  Scholarships to the

UNL for this award range from $500 to $2000. 

Sign up in the guidance office.

 

AnyCollege.com is available as a user-friendly college

search engine.  They also offer a link to “Win a Scholarship”

for $1,000.00  scholarship.

 

Beta Sigma Psi a Lutheran Fraternity a Nebraska offers s

cholarships for young men.  Applications are in the guidance office.

Central Community College of Hastings, in conjunction

with NMC Diesel and Caterpillar, offers student sponsorships

for a two-year associates degree in diesel technology.

After admission  UNL encourages prospective students to access

Greek fraternities and sororities applications through

“What About Me” http//wam.unl.edu. 

 

Peru State College is offering scholarships that are their

website at http://www.peru.edu/admissions/freshmanscholarships.htm.

The priority deadline is December 1, 2007.  Peru will begin

awarding scholarships immediately following this date!

 

The American Legion, Department of Nebraska, has announced

their annual $500.00 scholarships for students enrolling full time

in a Nebraska school or college the fall semester of 2008. 

You must be a son, daughter, grandchild, or great-grandchild 

of an American Legion member or a POW, MIA, or KIA. 

Applications for the Maynard Jensen American Legion

Memorial Scholarship and The American Legion

Eagle Scout of the Year are in the guidance office.

 

The Gates Millennium Scholars program recognizes students of

African American, American Indian, Hispanic American. and

Asian Pacific Islander American heritage.  You may access

information at www.gmsp.org. 

Deadline for applicationis December 31, 2007.

 

The Nebraska Aviation Trades Association invites you to apply for a

$1000 scholarship. Applications are in the guidance office. 

An essay is a critical part of the application.  The essay

topic is: “How Agricultural Aviation Helps Farmers and Consumers”.   

 

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program presents

awards to students who have volunteered in their community.
