Rep. Fortenberry visits AHS

Auburn High School was honored to host Rep. Jeff Fortenberry from Nebraska's 1st Congressional District on Friday, October 19th. Rep. Fortenberry was on his way from Falls City to Nebraska City and was able to fit in a 45-minute convocation with the junior and seniors of AHS.
Rep. Fortenberry discussed his role in the House of Representatives and some of the issues that are currently facing our nation. He also talked the students about making the most of the opportunities that they will have over the course of the next 5 to 10 years.
At the end of the convocation Rep. Fortenberry was able to take questions from the students. Some of these question topics included: the war in Iraq, energy conservation, the amount of time he spends in Nebraska versus Washington, D.C., and Husker Football
