Girl's Golf Wrap-up
November 02, 2007
The girls' golf team ended their season with district play at Woodland Hills. Auburn had three golfers participate in the district tournament. They played on a difficult course but the girls played well. Sidneiy Grable fired in a 107 and barely missed the state tournament. She placed 14th and missed the cut by 4 shots. Jenny Kahanca and Tiffiny McKinney also participated and they both shot a 146. The girls had a pretty successful year considering the lack of experience. They kept improving all year long and shot their best scores toward the end of the year. When they filled a full team, they were 0-2 in dual play. Coach Wehenkel said Tiffiny Mcinny was the most improved golfer on this year's team. Since everyone is returning next year, the girls should be vastly improved. Coach Wehenkel was happy with the way the girls improved all year long and is hoping next year to field a full team.
