Family, Hobbies, and Interests

November 15, 2007

Hello, I am Dennis Brady and I teach 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Earth Science at Auburn High School.  I enjoy the adventure of being a Junior High Instructor.  I am also, the head high school cross country and track and field teams coach.  I believe all students are able to learn. Through my 33 years of education I have found too often, we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.  My personal philosophy is "if it's to be it's up to me."

Education:

1967-1971     Auburn High School Graduate

1971-1975     Peru State College Graduate,  B.S. in Education with emphasis in Biology.  Minors in Mathematics and Chemistry.

1980-1982     Northwest Missouri State University, M.S. in Education with emphasis in Physical Education.

Career:

1975-1976       Sutton Public School, High School Biology

1976-Present    Auburn Public School, Junior High Science

1999-Present    Nemaha County Wellness Center, Personal Fitness Trainer

Family:

I have 3 adult children Amanda, Megin, and Bryce.  Amanda is married to Ryan Husing (Auburn Graduate).  They live in Gretna, Ne. and have 3 daughters Ashley, Abby and Allyssa.   Megin married David Grant (Auburn Graduate).  They live in Auburn, Ne. and have 2 daughters Mollie and Leah.  Bryce is not married and lives in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

My hobbies are fitness related.  I spend most of my free time jogging, biking, weight lifting and kayaking.  I like to snorkel and scuba dive.  I enjoy traveling and spend alot of my summers in the Caribbean or Central America on mission trips helping people.
