Boys Basketball
December 18, 2007
The boy’s basketball team has high expectations this year. After a disappointing 5- 15 season last year, this year’s team is hoping to turn Auburn basketball in the right direction. They have a good group of seniors mixed in with some experienced younger players. Coach Crawford said, “If we play hard and play together we could have a very successful season.” The strengths for this year’s squad are their depth and quickness. Hopefully they can utilize that. One weakness is that they lack a “true big man.” They need to counter that by playing great team ball.
Auburn has always had a difficult schedule and it will be no different this season. They play great traditional basketball schools like Wahoo Neumann and Syracuse. Other tough games will be Boys Town and Falls City. They also have two holiday tournaments coming up. On December 18th and 21st they are in a Pre-holiday tournament with Weeping Water, Grand Island Central Catholic, and Blue Hill. Then they have another holiday tourney on December 27th and 28th in Tecumseh against Johnson County Central, Syracuse, and Wilber. Everyone is very excited for this season and everyone should come to the games and support them.
