Well it’s time to roll out the wrestling mats and start the new season. Oliver has high hopes for the team this year. He is expecting a district championship, to take 10 to 14 kids to state, and to bring home a trophy.
There are many new changes to the wresting program this year. The main change is we no longer have a wrestling room. Coach Oliver said they will make due with what they have to work with. He also said they are planning on buying two new wrestling mats that are very light. Another new change is the Lincoln North Star dual. Auburn will dual them the same day as the Plattsmouth dual. Gretna has been added to the Auburn Invite, making the tournament even more competitive. Some of the wrestlers expected to step up as leaders are Travis Cole, Seth Kubik, Josh Rezab, Matt Oliver, Darian Haynes, Kiefer Coatney, Brett Vinson, and Jason Teten. Some of the duals to watch this year are the Plattsmouth dual and the Gretna dual. Some of the tournaments to be at this year are the Bennington tournament, Auburn Invite, and the Plattsmouth tournament.
The first wrestling event was the Triangular with Plattsmouth and Lincoln North Star on Thursday, the 29th of November.
