All 7th grade Industrial Technology students will research, design, produce and test a CO2 powered dragster car. With the help of a drafting program on the computer the class will draw their car design. The process of making the cars will include the use of power tools. Each student will paint and apply decals to their dragster.

Once their cars are finished they will be giving the opportunity to test their cars on a computer controlled racetrack. Each car’s speed and elapsed time are recorded. Awards are presented after the dragster competition. While this project incorporates design, drafting, and the use of power tools it also generates a lot of enthusiasm and enjoyment for the class.
