First Graders Show Their Reading Skills

First graders, in Mrs. Shaw’s, Mrs. Flies’, and Mrs. Reeves’ classrooms showed off their dedication and hard work at reading by performing different plays and Reader’s Theatre for the Kindergarten, Second, and Third grade classrooms at Calvert. The play The Knee High Man is an all time favorite for the first graders to perform. The first graders read from a script in their reading book and acted out the story by using individually made puppets. The first graders also performed by reading orally, many Reader’s Theatre scripts to show off their awesome reading fluency! Such Reader’s Theatre scripts as; “Neighbors in Space, ” “Town Mouse, Country Mouse”, and “The Little Red Hen” was enjoyed by all. Way to go First Grade!
