Harry Potter Fans invade AHS
FLA hosts a Harry Potter Camp

On April 12, 2008, the Future Leaders of America at AHS
hosted a HarryPotter camp for 4-5-6 graders . There were
approx 35 students who participated. Upon entering the camp,
the students had their photos taken by character Rita
Skeeter (AHS teacher Amy Kroll) . The students were then
sorted into houses by Professor Dumbledore (AHS principal
Kevin Reiman). Senior FLA members played the part of
"prefects' leading each group of kids around. Students
rotated thru a series of classrooms that resembled Hogwarts
School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Classes consisted of
Herbology, potions, Transfiguration, Care of Magical
Creatures, an Owlery with live owls. For acitivites, the
students made their own wands,took their O.W.L. tests and
played the Trivia Challenge. After the rotations the kids
entered the gym area and watched Harry Potter & The Order
of
the Phoenix movie on a 15 foot movie screen.
