3rd Grade Students Celebrate Arbor Day

Arbor Day Celebration
The third grade students at Calvert Elementary celebrated Arbor Day with a variety of activities. Allison Caspers from the Nemaha NRD spoke to the children about the benefits of planting trees, how to plant trees, and how to care for trees. Each student received a Southwestern White Pine to plant. The Auburn Tree Board members planted a tree with the students at Calvert. They also held a coloring contest. The winners of the coloring contest were Sheila Murphy, Shalee Gyhra, and Leanna Reeves. The third grade teachers are Nancy Kite, Janet Kirkendall, and Suzanne Whisler.
