An Olympic Spectator Visits Elementary Students
First & Second Graders Learn about Olympics and Chinese Culture

Emma Goering, a second grader in Mrs. Cole’s classroom, had the privilege of introducing her cousin, Whitney Clark, to her classmates as a 2008 Olympic Spectator.
Ms. Clark visited all sections of the first and second grades to tell of her Olympic experience in Beijing, China. Ms. Clark shared an outstanding PowerPoint presentation full of wonderful pictures she took during her trip with her college classmates. While in Beijing Ms. Clark was able to watch; Men's Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Softball, Handball, and Beach Volleyball.
The children were amazed that she had to fly for 13 hours on an airplane to get there.
They loved to see the different food she was able to taste.
After the presentation, the children were able to try out chopsticks and read their fortune by eating a fortune cookie.
