Groundbreaking Ceremonies Held for New Building Projects

On Tuesday, October 28, District #29 Board of Education members, administrators and students signaled the beginning of the building projects at Calvert Elementary and Auburn High School with a groundbreaking ceremony. Hard hats were donned and dirt was turned while the high school band played, the cheerleaders cheered and the student bodies applauded. City officials also looked on.
On Wednesday, the project's builders brought in big equipment and some of the "real" ground work began by removing dirt from the south side of the high school and moving it to the Calvert site. Both sites have been fenced off and secured.
