New to APS? How to register your child for the upcoming school year

Are you new to School District #29? Are you wondering how to register your child for the 2010-2011 school year?
Steps for registering:
1. Contact one of the following people. Make an appointment to register.
For K-5 students, contact Pam Knapp, secretary at Calvert Elementary -- 274-4129 or email her at pknapp@esu4.org .
For Grades 6-8 students, contact Barb Knipe, secretary in the Auburn Middle School office -- 274-4328, ext. 310 or email her at bknipe@esu4.org to make an appointment with Auburn Middle School counselor, Kathy Bucy.
New Grades 9-12 Student Registration -- August 9, 2010
Grades 9-12 students who are new to Auburn Public Schools are encouraged to meet with AHS counselor, Kristin Kudrna, on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If they are unable to do so, they should call or email Doreen Gulizia, APS registration secretary, to make arrangements to meet with Mrs. Kudrna on another date. New students should bring a copy of their birth certificate, immunization record, and any records from their former school (e.g. transcripts, IEP, etc.) that will expedite the students' registration process. Students are encouraged to download and complete the New Student Enrollment Form before arriving at the high school.
Drop and Add for Pre-registered Students -- August 10-11, 2010
Drop and Add for preregistered students in Grades 9-12 are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, August 10-11 at Auburn High School from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students in Grades 9-12 who pre-registered in the spring and would like to change their 2010-11 schedule should plan to meet with Mrs. Kristin Kudrna, AHS counselor, on one of these days. Student requests will be addressed on a first come -- first serve basis.
2. You may download the following document and fill it out before you come to the school. By doing so, the process will be completed more quickly. However, this is not a requirement.

3. Nebraska State law requires that new registrants provide:
a. a copy of the child's birth certificate,
b. record of shots (See Health Information Policies and Procedures by clicking on the following link.) Health Information
c. proof of receiving a physical if your child is new to Nebraska, a Kindergarten student, or a 7th grader.
d. All Kindergarten children are also required to provide proof of receiving an eye exam.
3. If you have a copy of transcripts, IEP's, or any other information that is relevant to child's education, please bring copies of these documents.
