Weekend of Champions for the Bulldogs
Cheerleaders take state; Wrestlers finish as runner-up

The weekend of February 21 will long be remembered by Bulldogs fans. The weekend saw the crowning of a team and individual state champions, runner-ups, and several other awards.
The weekend started off with the final rounds of the State Wrestling Tourney. The Bulldogs used a strong medal round to secure the school's first runner-up trophy in Class B. This marked the highest finish for a Bulldog Team. In addition to the runner-up trophy, Joe Alston won the 215 lbs. weight class. Other members placing at state included: Seth Kubik - 2nd at 152 lbs, Kiefer Coatney - 2nd at 145 lbs, Mat Oliver - 3rd at 140 lbs, Darian Haynes - 3rd at 135 lbs, and Trent Mertes - 3rd at 103 lbs.

The weekend ended with the Auburn Cheerleaders competing at State Cheerleading and Dance Championships. They competed in two divisions in Class C - non-tumbling/non-building routine and the sideline cheer routine. The squad won the State Championship in non-tumbling/non-building routine. The were the runner-up in the sideline cheer division.
In between the two events, the Auburn Band competed at the Elkhorn Band Olympics. They finished 3rd in their competition.
