Hi! I am excited to be the Music teacher for Kindergarten through Fourth Grades this year! I love music and am thrilled to be able to share my joy of music with the students. Music is an integral part of every culture - another way to express our feelings. I believe enjoying and performing music is a skill everyone can learn.
I have taught 18 years, 15 of those for District 29. I have taught every elementary level except First Grade, and have taught music for three of those years. I quit 7 years ago to spend more time with our young girls. I'm pleased to be back in the teaching field.
Education:
Peru State College, Peru, NE B.S. and M.S. in Elementary Education with many classes in music

Other post-graduate work in Cooperative Learning, Diagnosing and tutoring for Dyslexia, Writing, Math for Dyslexics
Teaching Career:
1983-4 Peru Elementary, Kindergarten, Music, Library, and English 4
1984-7 Arlington Elementary, 2nd grade
1987-2001 District 29, various positions in elementary/music
Family, Hobbies, and Interests
My husband, Steve, and I were married in 1994. We lived on a farm outside Peru at the time. We moved to Auburn in 1997 when our daughter, Claire, was 1 year old. Brenna was born the following year in 1998. Our girls are now 5th and 6th graders.
I enjoy almost all types of music, of course! I play the piano and accompany a choir and 'Spirit Wave' from our church. Volunteering is important to me - I am a Girl Scout leader and registrar, serve on the public library board, and serve as treasurer of the Apple Valley Reading Council.
I also enjoy playing bridge, traveling, reading, and attending our girls' activities.
