FBLA has been busy lately. Working with SENCA and getting Halloween activities ready they haven't had a break since school started. The Tailgate put on by the group raised $370 and close to 100 canned food items for SENCA. Other projects that the students are involved in include, a dance being sponsored November 2, Entrepreneurship Camp, helping at Head Start, and the Elementary School Enrichment program. Hannah Harmon, the FLBA news reporter, is excited to get the kids involved in the community so “they can grow a closer bond and pride within the community.” She can't wait for the Entrepreneurship Camp. President Chelsie Bradshaw's favorite part is mentoring at the preschool. She “absolutely loves it” and is excited for the res of the year. When asked about membership numbers, Mrs. Hahn stated that the group is only seven people short of their goal. Most of members are from the freshmen and senior classes. Hannah Harmon stated that people should join FBLA because “FBLA is just a cool group where everyone can have fun but gain very helpful leadership skills!” The latest meeting was October 17th. SENCA sponsored the meeting by providing pizza for all their hard work. If anyone is still interested in joining, talk to Mrs. Hahn. FBLA will help students who are looking for community service because the group does a lot of community service for area businesses. Upcoming projects include job shadowing in December and SLC (State Leadership Conference). Mrs. Hahn's goal for SLC is to have some members qualify for nationals.
In FBLA you can: Find acceptance, Be heard, Learn new skills, Achieve great success.
