Introduction
Hello, I am Ben Ideus and I teach Special Education at Auburn High School. I enjoy being a teacher here at Auburn. The students, staff, and community are great to work with. Besides teaching, I also do some coaching. I am the head 7th grade football coach, assistant girls basketball coach and assistant track coach. I really enjoy watching the athletes improve throughout the season.
Education
I graduated High School in 2002 from Lewiston Consolidated Schools in Lewiston. Nebraska. This is a small town school with about twenty students in each grade level. After graduation I attended college at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. My stay here was short. After the first year I decided to transfer to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. This is when I decided to go into education. I received my B.A. in Secondary Special Education in December 2006. After graduation I was given a chance to interview for an opening here at Auburn. I was hired and started teaching in the Spring semester of 2007. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here at Auburn.
Family and Hobbies
I am married to Kristine Ideus, a Kindergarten teacher at Calvert Elementary. We were married in July 2008 and then spent our honeymoon in Jamaica. The other member of our family is a puppy named Reese.
Some activities I enjoy doing are hunting, fishing, hanging out with family and friends, working on the farm, and playing a variety of sports. Kristine and I like being outdoors, relaxing, and going to Husker and Chief football games.
