Who is Mrs. Kudrna you may ask?
Well, she is the Family Consumer Science teacher and High School Guidance Counselor at Auburn High School. She has been at Auburn High School since 1991, that is eighteen years. She says that she chose to go into teaching because of her older sister who teaches first grade. She chose Family Consumer Science because she likes color, design, and sewing. Her favorite classes to teach are Child Development and Family Relations.

Is she qualified to teach Family Consumer Science?
Mrs. Kudrna graduated from Fremont Bergan High School in 1985 After that she attended Kearney State College and got her Bachelors degree is Family and Consumer Science. Then she got a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Peru State College. She sounds pretty qualified to me! She is currently taking online courses through Chadron State College.

What about FLA (Future Leaders of America)?
Mrs. Kudrna has sponsored FLA since 1991. It began with only 12 girls who met every Monday night. It has grown significantly since then. Mrs. Kudrna says her favorite part of FLA is being herself and giving the girls a chance to be themselves with each other. They are constantly silly and laughing. It is like they speak a language of their own.
Her favorite activity to do with FLA are Roadside CleanUp and Laser Tag. She also loves to try new things with the girls such as video scavenger hints, Henry Doorly zoo sleepovers, and henna tattoos. Subway lunches also rock!!

What about The European Travel Club?
The European Travel Club started in 1999 due to the joint efforts of Mr. Reiman, Mrs. Jeanneret, and Mrs. Kudrna. It involves allowing High School Students the chance to travel to Europe and experience life over there. Mrs. Kudrna says her favorite part of the European Travel Club is giving kids the chance to see new sites and knowing that she is changing their lives forever. She loves traveling with the group. She has even taken her own niece to Spain, France, and Italy. Mrs. Kudrna herself has been to Paris three times.
Mrs. Kudrna says she would love to vacation in Scotland. She wants to see the highlands, castles and Loch Ness. Given the choice of living anywhere in the world she would even choice to live in Lucerne, Switzerland-- given that she could take her entire family along.

Family huh!
Mrs. Kudrna has been married to Scott Kudrna for 14 years. They have two children, Jack who is ten and Kathryn who is eight. Mrs. Kudrna loves spending time with her family.

The Real Mrs. Kudrna!
Some of her hobbies include reading and scrapbooking. Her favorite book is “the Thorn Birds” although she does enjoy many kinds of books. Check out her latest pick- the "Twilight " series.  Her favorite movies include “Somewhere in Time” and “The English Patient.” But she likes a good comedy like “Evan Almighty” and “Monty Python,” or something romantic like "The Holiday" or   " While you were sleeping"

The BIG Secret...
As a Family Consumer Science teacher you would assume that Mrs. Kudrna would like to cook but you would be wrong. Although she doesn’t like to cook she does like to eat! Some of her favorite foods include cheetos, crab legs, and fish.
