In the high school, I teach Introduction to Algebra, Algebra 1, CPM Algebra 1, and Advanced Math Topics. I teach 8th grade Algebra 1 and help coach middle school girls basketball.
I have been married to Denise for 41 years and have three children–Micah, a medical doctor practicing in Andover, Kansas; Matthew, a graduate student studying for his doctorate in marketing at UNL; and Meggie, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita.
My undergraduate degree is from Kansas State University, and my masters degree is from Peru State College. I have published 12 student activities in The Mathematics Teacher and Teaching Mathematics in the Middle School by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and also Science Scope from the National Association of Science Teachers. I write mathematics items for ACT and have served on four ACT item review panels.
In 1996, my family moved to Yaounde, Cameroon, West Africa, where I taught two years at Rain Forest International School. I have taught 41 years–33 of those in my home town–Sabetha, Kansas. This year is my 5th year teaching in Auburn. My mother graduated from Brock, and my father graduated from Shubert. My father taught in Nemaha, and my mother and step-father both taught in Auburn High School.
My hobbies include music, sports, and my OLD Park Avenue.
