School Closure

APS Families,

With recommendations from Governor Ricketts and local medical and health department experts, it is in the best interest of our students and staff to close Auburn Public Schools beginning Wednesday, March 18th through April 1st.  We will re-evaluate and inform you if we need to extend the closure for any additional period of time.

Closures mean no school, no practices, no meetings, no weight room, no contests, etc.

This has been an extremely difficult decision that we did not take lightly.  There are numerous issues we factored in and continue to discuss. This situation is changing daily and sometimes hourly.

We will communicate information about food availability for our students ASAP.  At this time, our pick-up locations will be Calvert Elementary, Auburn Middle & High School, the Central Office, and locations within our surrounding communities.  Providing support for all of our students and staff is always a top priority.

Our closure also means the Afterschool Program is closed as well. Please make plans for childcare for your family if needed.

By the end of the week, students/families will receive updated details about our extended learning plans. We ask for your patience as we prepare to implement the plans we have been working on across our district.

Our building principals will ensure that each building will be open on Wednesday, March 18th, between 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM for any families that need to come to school and pick up medications and other items of interest.

We will continue to communicate updates on a regular basis.  Thank you for your continued support of Auburn Public Schools. We will do our best to support our students, staff, and community through this unprecedented time.
