Secondary Social Studies Teacher – 2026–2027 School Year
Auburn Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Secondary Social Studies Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are committed to fostering a culture of growth, resiliency, and pride, while empowering all learners in their pursuit of excellence.
Position Summary:
The Social Studies Teacher will provide high-quality instruction aligned with Nebraska College and Career Ready Standards. The ideal candidate will engage students in meaningful learning experiences that promote critical thinking, civic understanding, and real-world connections.
Essential Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Social Studies instruction for secondary students
Develop lessons that promote inquiry, analysis, and understanding of historical and contemporary issues
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes
Integrate technology to enhance learning
Foster a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues through PLCs and contribute to school improvement efforts
Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Support the district’s mission and vision
Qualifications:
Valid Nebraska teaching certificate with appropriate Social Studies endorsement (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of Social Studies content and instructional best practices
Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement
Compensation:
Salary is based on education and experience in accordance with the district’s negotiated agreement.
